I am person centred trained, trauma informed; from my years working for a rape crisis centre. I work with adults, 18+ online and over the telephone. I bring my real self to the counselling space, not some cardboard cut-out. I do not overshare but on occasions I may share something if it would be useful for my client and if they give their consent. I work with creative arts where appropriate, this can be incredibly helpful if a client finds it hard to talk, or is stuck. Maybe surprising is that I believe in sharing laughter, something many clients have told me they find useful to help ease them back to reality after a hard session or that they cannot remember the last time they have laughed. Rest assured however I work it is always from a place of care and respect. I support my clients from day one of their journey right the way through.
