I am a specialist psychotherapist based in London, although I work online and can therefore work with clients from any region. I understand the profound impact that low self-esteem, imposter syndrome, perfectionism and anxiety can have on wellbeing. My approach is rooted in compassion, empathy and evidence-based cognitive behavioural techniques tailored to address the needs of each client. Through a collaborative therapeutic process, we work together to explore the underlying factors contributing to these difficulties and develop personalised strategies to cultivate self-compassion, challenge negative beliefs and build resilience. I primarily use cognitive behavioural therapy, which explores patterns of thinking and behaviour that may be contributing to difficulties. In addition, I bring in other therapies, for example EMDR, imagery re-scripting, exposure therapy, compassion focused therapy, psychoanalysis, depending on client needs. Above all, my approach is collaborative and empowering. I have experience working in clinical and supervisory roles across the NHS and private sector. I ran various clinical groups and provided training to clinicians within South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust. I also sat on the interview panel for the psychotherapy postgraduate course at UCL. Before I became a psychotherapist, I was an acrobatic gymnast representing Great Britain all over the world. I know what it’s like to put pressure on myself to succeed. I also know the impact this can have on self-worth. Even the most successful people have moments of doubt, second guessing decisions and criticising themselves for perceived failures. It’s a myth that confidence comes from success; it comes from knowing how to survive failure. True confidence is not the absence of uncertainty, but the knowledge that you can cope regardless of the outcome. more
